IKT PROGRAMMING

AFTERMARKET FORD IKT KEYS – PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

The aftermarket IKT keys require a 2-step programming procedure. Step 1 will program the transponder chip and Step 2 will program the remote functions.

Step 1 → Programming the TRANSPONDER CHIP

Use programming equipment as usual, then continue to Step 2 or, if programming “on board”, do as follows:

To add a Duplicate Key (requires 2 working keys):

1. Insert the first original key and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position for at least 3 seconds but no more than 10 seconds.

2. Turn the ignition to the OFF position and within 10 seconds, remove the first original key and insert the second original key. Turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position for at least 3 seconds but no more than 10 seconds.

3. Turn the ignition to the OFF position, remove the second original key and within 20 seconds insert the new, unprogrammed key. Turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position for at least 6 seconds and then remove the key.

4. The theft indicator light will light up for 3 seconds and then go out to indicate the key has been programmed. The key should start the vehicle. To add more keys, wait 20 seconds and repeat from Step 1.

Step 2 → Programming the REMOTE

1. Using the key with the remote that you are programming, turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4-times within 3 seconds, with the 4th time ending in the RUN position.

2. Door locks will cycle to confirm in Programming Mode.

3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.

4. If programming a second key, within 20 seconds, press any button on the 2nd remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming → skip this step if only programming one remote.

5. Turn ignition to OFF. The door locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
